ExxonMobil is deeply committed to empowering the youth and shaping the business leaders of tomorrow. Our dedication extends to not only fostering a new generation of ethical business leaders but also to actively aiding young individuals in their career development through a variety of initiatives.
On September 28, participants of this year’s Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JAHK) Business Ethics Program, which has been exclusively sponsored by ExxonMobil Hong Kong (EMHK) since its launch in 2005, were invited to join a job shadowing day in our Central Plaza office. Under the guidance of EMHK volunteer mentors, students from five local universities were given the unique opportunity to understand the roles and responsibilities of various departments, including Environmental and Property Solutions, Retail Pricing, Retail Sales, Commercial Vehicle Sales, Commercial Fuels, Sales and Operations Planning, and Public & Government Affairs, and identify positions that align with their interests and competencies. Some participants were even able to partake in business calls and visit Esso service stations, providing them a glimpse into the day-to-day work of their mentors. The day culminated in a networking session where participants could establish connections, exchange ideas, and prepare for their transition into the professional world together.
"The business world is changing rapidly, and students must equip themselves with the necessary skillsets to remain competitive in the job market. We hope that this job shadowing day helps students figure out their career orientation and inspires them to embrace challenges by grasping different job opportunities to acquire novel knowledge and skills, and evolve into well-rounded talents who can make significant contribution to society,” said Tony Kwok, EMHK Hong Kong/Macau Fuels Sales Director.
