What would it take to reduce 80% of energy-related CO2 emissions?

ExxonMobil Europe president Philippe Ducom explains why it’s essential to lower emissions from the heavy industrial and heavy-duty transport sectors – the source of 80% of energy-related CO2 emissions.

Eighty percent of energy-related global CO2 emissions come from two sectors: heavy industry and heavy-duty transport. The challenge this presents is substantial: these vital sectors include facilities like power plants, steel mills, and oil refineries, and modes of transport such as ships, trucks and planes.

Successfully lowering emissions from these sectors can help the world in its objective to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. At ExxonMobil, this is the challenge we’re focused on.

Energy Factor sat down with ExxonMobil Europe president Philippe Ducom to discuss investments in lower-emission technologies and the importance of policy support and cross-sector collaboration to drive emission reductions. Find out more from Philippe’s interview:
