Helping Victorians in need through our partnership with Foodbank
The Foodbank Farms to Families pop-up market in Sale is a biannual program that sees teams across our Gippsland operations volunteer their time to help pack fresh food and pantry staples for struggling families in Sale and the surrounding communities.
This year the pop-up market was held in April, with 12 ExxonMobil Australia team members volunteering for the event. Throughout the day, they distributed a total of 3,754 kilograms of fresh food and pantry staples to 209 families. Hampers and left-over produce from the day were also given out to families who could not make it on that day.
“It was a very rewarding day spent with work mates and families from the Sale community. It was great to be able to listen, share a laugh and make genuine connections with everyone. I really enjoyed volunteering for the event and look forward to the next one!” commented Adrian Hare, PBP Coordinator and Sale local.
“It was my first time volunteering for the Farms to Families market, and what a great feeling it was to be able to give back to the Sale community”, said Lisa Korb, Senior Administration Assistant at Longford Plants.
ExxonMobil Australia has been a long-time supporter and partner of Foodbank Victoria, whose mission is to fight hunger and help feed Australians in need.
Even today, many families are still recovering from the devastating impacts of COVID-19, and programs such as the Farms to Families market help families overcome challenges they may be facing.
